Loren Dempster
Loren Kiyoshi Dempster, uses a combination of computer, electronics, field recordings,
cello, improvisation, notated scores, and world music influences to create and
perform music. An active chamber musician and improvisor, he might be found
performing in the next while with Arthur Solari, Dan Joseph Jerome Begin, Jessica
Pavone. He has been presented or performed at The Stone, Roulette, North River
Music, Weseleyn College, and Chez Bushwick. Ever interested in the relationships
between movement, space, and sound, he may be found creating or performing music
for many choreographers, including Amanda Drozer, Chris Ferris, Margaret Paek
and the Stochastic Ensemble. He recently had numerous tour dates in Europe and
South America with Berlin based choreographer Jeremy Wade. Upcoming fall tour
dates include concerts in Berkeley with Merce Cunningham.
